A Mass-Customization-Based Remanufacturing Scheme Design Method for Used Products

Remanufacturing scheme design (RSD) is an essential step in the restoration and upgrading of used products. However, quantity remanufactured products growing rapidly, customers have personalized demands for that lead to shorter cycles. In addition, are scrapped due their own defects, such as performance failure functional degradation, which correspond inherent remanufacturing demand (IRD) Faced with large quantities products, how quickly develop reasonable schemes satisfying customers’ individual IRD urgent problem be solved. To address these issues, a mass customization-based RSD method proposed. First, comprising customer analyzed determine targets types. Then, methods intelligently selected based on types, include restorative remanufacturing, upgrade hybrid while contains remanufacturing. Moreover, generated satisfy reverse engineering (RE) tool contact point path section line (TCPPSL) method. After restored, case-based reasoning (CBR) retrieve case best matches targets, grey relational analysis (GRA) algorithm applied calculate similarity between cases. Finally, feasibility this verified by considering lathe. The results indicated proposed approach can rapidly help designers obtain solutions IRD.
